​Skjaersild was founded by Khalvst ov Mhurn (initially known as Ravn) in 2004. The band is from Terrassa (Spain). ​​

In 2005, Skjaersild releases their first demo called 'Skjaersild'. This demo consist of 2 songs of Instrumental Ambient Black Metal. Then, two years later, in 2007, Skjaersild releases their second demo called 'Damned Roots'. This release is a 3 track-demo of Instrumental Ambient Black Metal. Before 3 years, in 2010, the band release another demo called 'Yggdrasil'. This third demo consist of 2 Instrumental Ambient Black Metal songs. ​

In 2011, the band decided to release another demo. In this case, the songs recorded of Skjaersild first two demos but now with lyrics. For do this, on Deceber 2011 the band joined a new member: Nyx, as a songwritter and vocalist. But for personal reasons, the band split-up on January 2012.

Before one month of inactivity the band starts again on March 2012 with a new member: Kane Bittruf, from the german DSBM band Morn Guruth. Kane Bittruf joined the band as a songwritter, vocalist and all instruments player too.

Finally, on June 2012 the fourth demo was relased. This one was called 'The Pillars of Suffering', and this demo includes the old Skjaersild songs, but now with lyrics.​

​

In February 2013, Gar Azazel joined the band as a drumer. Gar Azazel also plays in Elathan (Epic DSBM band from Spain) and Ensom (Symphonic Post-Black Metal band from Spain).

​

Actually, the band is finishing their new work: an split album with Aisuragua (spanish DSBM band) and Wulfheim (spanish Black Metal band). Meanwhile this new release is done, the band relased a single album called 'A World for You'. ​

Next step is try to release the first LP, if it's possible in 2014 for celebrate the 10th years of the band.
